About Jacob
I am a Primary School Teacher with a passion for helping students overcome difficulties in their learning and establish confidence in their abilities.
If there are any areas of learning in Primary School that your child is struggling with, I am able to provide a supportive learning environment where the pupil's needs are met first.
For me, it all started when coaching youth tennis for several years, seeing children develop and take on the 'small steps' to achieve progress. This led to an interest in teaching by helping achieve specific learning objectives and developing well-rounded understanding of subjects. From there, I developed a passion for working with individuals and getting to know how each pupil learns with a different approach, tailoring my teaching style to work effectively.

When teaching pupils, I find it most important to approach the tutoring in a way that meets the exact needs of the child and personally engages with their way of learning. Through a first session I will get to know the pupil I am working with; from there I can provide teaching for any subject at primary level, specialising in English, Maths and French.
I have 3 years experience as a Primary School Teacher and I am confident delivering sessions to children of all ages. Specialisms from my work in schools include: a calm and collected approach to learning, an ability to pinpoint and address gaps in learning and experience working with children from a diverse range of backgrounds.
I can address gaps in learning in earlier years, prepare students for an 11+ or SATs, and offer help with any learning in between. Any ages from 5-11 are within my specialism but I am open to enquiries regarding children slightly older in pre-GCSE learning. Lessons are in 1 hour sessions and can be delivered over Zoom or in-person (depending on travel distance.)
