About Phillipa

I have worked as a primary school teacher in London for six years, at two different schools in London. Both schools were rated Outstanding by Ofsted. My lessons have been observed by inspectors and I have been interviewed, later to be awarded for Outstanding practice.

I most enjoy teaching Phonics, a foundational stage for young learners to develop their early reading skills and to build a positive relationship with reading.

Before receiving my PGCE in Primary Education from UCL I studied English Literature and Film Studies at received my bachelors degree from The University of Leicester.

About the lesson

My lessons are informed by study at UCL in Primary Education.
Lessons include a short and fun activity to warm up, followed by personalised and engaging activities to help children understand whichever concepts apply to them.
My teaching style is warm and supportive, to enable children to feel comfortable enough to have a go and make mistakes, but then to learn from them.
