About Avi-Yona
I graduated from Colgate University with a B.A. in English, a B.A. in Philosophy, and an unofficial minor in Classics. College was the first institution in which I began tutoring friends and classmates in writing and philosophy. After that, I received my J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and a Certificate in Management from The Wharton School. I continued studying justice, law, and criminology at American University, where I had the privilege of being a research assistant, a teaching assistant, and an adjunct instructor. I have had poetry and short stories published in more than 15 different literary magazines and reviews, and I'm currently the Director of Advocacy for The Seventh Wave, a literary magazine and nonprofit focused on the intersection between art and social issues.
