About Lina

Hi, I’m Lina! I began my musical journey at the age of 7, which eventually led me to complete a Master of Arts degree with top marks in Composition, Improvisation, and Music Education at the Academy of Music in Łódź, Poland. I also hold Qualified Teacher Status in the UK. But beyond the diplomas, what truly defines me is my love for creating, playing, and sharing music. Over the past 14 years, I’ve travelled and worked across the UK, Europe, Asia, and the Caribbean—performing, teaching, and collaborating with musicians from a wide range of traditions. I’ve been part of multicultural projects spanning classical, jazz, folk, tango, French chanson, progressive rock, contemporary, electronic, and hip-hop. Alongside this, I run my own project, Lina Rhei, where I explore the meeting point between Slavic harmonies, modern electronic textures, and hip-hop rhythms. As a pianist, vocalist, accordionist, and composer, I love bringing together influences that don’t normally meet: Bach-like counterpoint with hip-hop beats, Chopin’s sparkle with synth echoes, and dark Slavic melodies with deep bass vibrations. My music is both experimental and human, weaving together different cultures, moods, and eras into something unique. Above all, music has always been my greatest passion, and nothing brings me more joy than helping others grow their skills, creativity, and confidence through it.

About the lesson

Music is my passion, and I love sharing it with aspiring and developing musicians. Whether you want to compose, improvise, or arrange music in any style, I’ll show you how surprisingly approachable it can be. Most music follows familiar structures and harmonies - it’s easier than you think, and more fun than you imagine. Together, we’ll develop your unique musical voice and explore the edges of your creativity. Each session is tailored to your goals: the genres you’re most passionate about and the instruments or vocals you want to include in your compositions. I can teach you to write and arrange in a wide range of styles: from classical, jazz and folk to hip-hop, contemporary, electronic and experimental. We’ll also look at how to analyse your own songs to refine and elevate your craft. I’ve developed targeted song-writing and composition exercises to help with structure, melody, harmony, rhythm, and emotional connection. Some things are intuitive - others just need a nudge in the right direction to become second nature.

She started teaching my son when he was just 4 years old, and from the very beginning she showed so much patience, kindness, and skill in keeping him engaged.
