About Bill
Hi! I’m a writer who is obsessed with the Chinese language. I’ve spent the last 16 years working as a professional copywriter and have even published my own teen fiction books. For me, Mandarin isn’t just a school subject—it’s a way to tell great stories.
I started teaching because of my nephew; I’ve spent the last three years helping him navigate the language, and it’s been one of the most rewarding things I’ve done.
I know how "scary" Mandarin can seem to kids, so I’m here to show them the fun, creative side of it while making sure they actually get their head around the basics.

Let’s be honest: nobody learns well when they’re bored. My lessons for primary schoolers are all about keeping things light but effective. I don’t just focus on memorizing characters; I want my students to understand how the language works so they can use it confidently.
Because I write for a living, I have a few tricks up my sleeve to help with:
Easy Writing: Making those school essays feel a lot less like a struggle.
Natural Speaking: Getting kids to actually talk and feel good doing it.
Better Understanding: Breaking down tricky grammar into things that actually make sense.
I’m big on building a good connection with my students, so the first class is totally free. It’s a great way for us to meet, chat, and see how I can help your child enjoy Mandarin a bit more!
