Spelling - I will teach spelling using phonics and spelling rules instead of memorization. Grammar - I will explain rules using examples and focus on punctuation and sentence structure as well. Reading Comprehension - I will teach active reading strategies and build vocabulary. Writing Development - I will help students use graphic organizers to organize their creative ideas.
Math - I will help students with basic math concepts. A typical lesson plan (45-1 hr class): 1. Quick Warm-Up (5-10 mins) a) small grammar exercise b) vocab review 2. The Lesson (20-25 min) a) learning new skills like a grammar rule, reading strategy b) teaching with examples 3. Practice! (10-15 mins) a) practicing the lesson learned 4. Wrap-Up a) reviewing the key concepts b) give out homework
