About Raine

I'm a psychology student in my fourth year, planning to start a PhD when I finish undergraduate studies. I've been tutoring for two years with individual and group sessions. Most of my students hired me over a whole semester, and some students hired me for several semesters before I took a break from tutoring to focus on my studies earlier this year. I really enjoy teaching and used to work as a teacher's aide in a high school before starting university. I am an advanced psychology student with knowledge at a higher level than is taught in my degree because of my engagement with learning and teaching psychology outside of classes. My specific areas of interest are social psychology, research methodology, and statistics.

About the lesson

It's important for me to teach in ways that my students are comfortable with and also challenged by. I use the latest psychological research in my teaching to ensure I'm teaching effectively and also teaching my students to study effectively (for example, I encourage a lot of self-testing instead of re-reading material).

My teaching sessions are structured and goal-oriented. I always start my sessions by checking with my students what they want to achieve and then we work together to plan for that. I believe in adjusting my methods to suit my students, so I will use visual, auditory, and physical aids to help in teaching according to what works best for you.

Perfect! I had an incredible first tutoring session with Raine! They had a very engaging teaching style, and it helped me learn about my topics in an active manner. We also made very good use of time, and I felt like I got a lot from the lesson. Definitely booking another sesh in the future :)
