About Priya
I am a 25-year-old Alternative Provision teacher with a huge passion for helping children thrive, especially those who may struggle or need a little extra support something I can personally relate to from my own school experience.
I like to think of myself as fun, friendly, and approachable, and I always aim to create a safe, positive learning environment where students feel comfortable and confident. I work hard to make lessons feel less like traditional school and more like an engaging, enjoyable session, while still ensuring that real learning takes place.
My goal is not just to support academic progress, but to help students build confidence, motivation, and belief in themselves.

I am a Psychology graduate (2:1) currently working as an Alternative Provision teacher, specialising in SEND and SEMH. I also have several years’ experience as a tutor, supporting students with a range of needs and abilities.
My teaching approach is student-centred and highly personalised. I believe that every child learns differently, so I take the time to understand each student’s strengths, challenges, and interests. Lessons are carefully broken down into manageable steps to ensure students fully understand the content before moving on. This helps build confidence as well as subject knowledge.
I particularly enjoy one-to-one tutoring, as it allows me to make a meaningful impact on students who may need extra encouragement or a different approach. This is something I personally relate to, as I also needed extra support during my own time at school, which helps me connect with students on a deeper level.
I aim to make lessons engaging, interactive, and enjoyable, often incorporating topics or activities that the student is interested in to keep them motivated. My sessions focus not only on academic progress but also on building confidence, resilience, and a positive attitude towards learning.
