About Christine
My name is Christine! I am a passionate writing tutor with 7 years of experience helping students of all ages improve their writing skills. My goal is to inspire confidence in my students and foster a love for writing. I hold a degree in Psychology from California State University of Dominguez Hills and have worked with diverse learners, from middle school students to adults seeking to refine their writing for academic or professional purposes.
I believe that every writer has a unique voice that deserves to be heard. My approach is student-centered, focusing on individual needs and strengths. I aim to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable expressing themselves and taking risks in their writing.

My method/techniques include but are not limited to: visual presentations, samples, mental warm ups and strategies to target the specific writing topic with citations.
- A typical lesson plan: 60 minutes duration
Students will enhance their writing skills by focusing on structure, coherence, and style in their written work.
- Warm Up: Quick Writing Prompt (5 minutes duration)
- Focus on Writing Topic & Understand Structure
- Practice Activity: Create an Outline
- Writing Exercise: Create a Rough Draft
- Peer Review: Give Feedback on Rough Draft
- Wrap Up & Reflection: Discussion and Revision for Final Draft
These lessons are targeted for middle school, high school and community college.
What sets me apart as a tutor is I try to keep a positive environment and build confidence within the student. I use a lot of ice breakers in the beginning of each lesson along with some breathing techniques to ensure a great learning day!
