About Karina

Teaching and languages have been a part of me for as long as I can remember. My mom is an English teacher. I grew up watching her interacting with her students, planning new activities, grading, etc.

Now, as I've recently graduated from college, I realize that one of my passions is the process of learning a language. And I think that, what I've learned as a Psychology major will be very helpful to me as a teacher, because now I know that the process of learning is so much more than giving a bunch of information and then handing out a test, it takes patience and creativity as well.

I'm 23 now, some of you might think I'm too young to be teaching, but for the past 6 years I've been tutoring students in many different subjects, mostly English, so don't worry! You're in good hands!

About the lesson

If you choose me as a tutor, our main focus will be grammar and vocabulary. However, we will be speaking spanish constantly, this way you'll get more and more comfortable with the language as we go.

My lessons usually go like this:
-We talk about life for a few minutes, this way we practice speaking and reinforce vocabulary.
-We move on to the subject of the day, I ask you if you know anything about it.
-I explain the subject, and as I do, we answer an activity together.
-When I'm done explaining it's your turn to do an activity by yourself.
-We check it, make sure if everything is clear.
-If we still have time, we do a writing exercise.

My lessons are for everyone! I've worked with children, teens and adults before. I adapt my courses to each of my students.
