About Cathy
As a mother of two adult children who I raised as a single parent and who both have graduate degrees and each working in their respective fields of study; which I am very proud of. I also have six beautiful grandchildren and I often assist them with their school lessons either in person or via Zoom as they all live in different States. I come from a line of educators and my late Mother was also a school teacher; so teaching comes very naturally for me. I am extremely patient and confident that I can teach anyone who is willing to learn. I would like to assure any potential student that they will be in good hands and that I am passionate about their success!

My teaching methods are to make certain that my students are fully-engaged in what they are learning.
As a tutor, I aim to make learning fun and relatable and not so demanding and overwhelming as to make students dread their interaction with me as their tutor.
A typical lesson plan would be: Introduction of the course, lesson or book being read; identifying the student's goal or aim for the lesson or course; having an open exchange with the student to make certain that they understand my expectations of them and also asking for feedback from the student as to what their expectations are of me as their tutor, considering their particular learning style; providing a course outline and making certain the student is keeping pace with the course outline and the predetermined goals we have agreed to at the start of the course, lesson or book.
My preference is to work with elementary school students but I am also willing to work with older students and adults. I will make certain my students have a good time and that they are mastering the lessons.
