My way of teaching goes, first by knowing the mindset of the student, their interests and hobbies. Then it goes with relating the subject with day to day real life examples and simple activities by which they connect and realize the existence of knowledge around them. Google search could be some side kick for students but letting them know how to utilise the best of it becomes the key for the abundance of knowledge and thoughts they can aquire.
