About Camilo

I am a professional architect, and that title didn't come easy, it was with a lot of trial and error, and a lot of nights with no sleep, that led me to know tips and tricks to improve efficiency. I believe efficiency is the core thing when learning this software, because if you are stuck on a mechanical process instead of letting your creativity flow, you can get stuck and leave it. So let's connect and let's find out your true potential in the 3D environment ;)

I've been using said software a long time (7+ years) and I know some good tips and tricks to help you achieve great results as fast and efficiently as possible, whether your field is architecture, product design, animation, or anything related to the 3D environment! I have experience teaching this software, during my architecture career I worked as an official tutor for students falling behind that could improve their efficiency, achieving great results. Also, language will not be an issue, I am fluent in english and spanish, and I have a good level of Italian, french, and japanesse. I really hope you choose me as your teacher, let's connect and start learning!

  • 1) Can you tell us about your first experience using a computer?

I have loved technology ever since I was a little kid. I remember using the very old version of photoshop just to mess around with my family's photos when I was like 12 years old, editing funny faces on my siblings and family members. From that moment on I've been really close to computers, and then, I studied architecture and technology proved to be my main strength in my career as well.
  • 2) What is the technological evolution that has marked you most and what will be, in your eyes, a turning point in this field?

Definitely, the computer hardware evolution, meaning, the advance on the speed of the computers (then vs now), this translates in my field of expertise in much faster rendering, more comfortable workflow, and more efficient task management and 3D modeling. A turning point is VR technology, with which I have already experimented and I see so much potential in that field.
  • 3) Explain your expertise, your interest in it and, more broadly, its importance in the computer world.

I love 3D, and aesthetics. Why is it important in the computer world? Because it takes your ideas and makes them understandable to anybody that sees them (if done correctly), not only that, but it helps you, the designer, understand your own ideas better and improve them, that's what makes me fall in love with 3D design and modelling. (Rhino,Sketchup,Autocad)
The aesthetics part comes after that, a nice 3D model can be quickly wasted in an ugly presentation or poster, that's why, after doing a 3D masterpiece you must show it properly (colors, lights, composition, etc.), hence my expertise in the adobe suite, which helped me a lot and is a very nice mix with my 3D abilities.
  • 4) Do so-called 'visionaries', such as Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg inspire you or do you have other role models?

My role model is myself... wait! I promise it is not a narcissistic point of view! What I mean is, of course I look up to people that have an awesome portfolio, but in no way I let that affect my perception of myself, I don't think that I must be like them, I get inspired, take what I can use of that information, and then keep on with my own way, never envying, never having a low perception of my abilities, and with a lot of humility to recognize maybe they know something I don't, but is something positive.
  • 5) Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

3rd semester of architecture school, 3 days for the final presentation, I started learning rhino like 2 months ago at that time, and the teacher architect said "no, that building won't work, change it"...
I didn't even have time to complain, I just went straight to my desk, worked nonstop for like 3 days and watched A LOT of tutorials. Short story, I scored 5/5 and I had a very long nap afterwards.

    (Tambó Project below, 3rd semester)
  • 6) What would you say to an uncomfortable person in front of a screen who says that "IT is too complicated"?

I would bring them close and show them why the IT guy does what he does, so that person understands behind the "complicated" there is a reason for each process.
  • 7) What are your other passions, related or non-related to computers?

Apart from Architecture and 3D modelling, my passion is Music, I've been playing guitar pretty much for the same time I've been with the computer, I enjoy posting guitar covers and original songs in my social media, but more than that, I enjoy playing live with different bands and genres.
  • 8) What makes you a Superprof in IT?

I'm patient, and I have a very honest way to do all my jobs, my major intention apart from anything is helping you achieve your goals, and of course I am going to make some extra money out of it, but the satisfaction doesn't come in the paycheck, but in seeing you getting to me not knowing how to do something, and then seeing you presenting your project confident that you have something great.
