About Joseph

I am Professor Joseph Nehru, an English language educator with more than 30 years of international university teaching experience. Throughout my career, I have worked with learners from different linguistic, cultural and educational backgrounds, teaching and mentoring students at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels.

What I enjoy most about teaching is seeing learners become more confident and capable in using English. Whether someone wants to communicate more effectively, prepare for an important academic or professional situation, or develop their skills for international communication, I find it rewarding to help them make meaningful progress.

My professional experience includes English language teaching, academic communication, research supervision and mentoring, curriculum development, and academic publishing and review. These experiences have given me a broad understanding of how English is used in education, research, professional settings and international communication.

As a teacher, I am patient, approachable and genuinely interested in the individual learner. I believe good teaching is not simply about explaining information; it is about listening, understanding what a learner needs and helping them develop the confidence to use what they learn.

I look forward to bringing my experience and enthusiasm to our lessons and helping you achieve your own goals in English.

About the lesson

My classes are practical, personalised and learner-centred. I begin by understanding your goals, current level and specific challenges, and then structure each lesson around what you need to achieve. Whether you want to develop confident communication, strengthen your reading and writing, prepare for IELTS, improve your academic or professional English, or receive guidance with research and thesis work, your learning needs remain at the centre of every lesson.

My approach is interactive rather than lecture-based. You will actively speak, listen, read, discuss, analyse and practise, with opportunities to apply what you learn to real-life, academic and professional situations. I provide individual feedback and practical strategies, helping you understand both what needs improvement and how to improve it.

A typical lesson has a clear objective, guided practice, meaningful interaction and focused feedback. We review your performance, identify areas for further development and establish practical steps for continued progress.

Drawing on more than 30 years of international university teaching experience, I bring academic expertise, cross-cultural understanding and a supportive approach to every class. My aim is not simply to teach English, but to help you use it with greater confidence, accuracy and effectiveness.

My standard fee is ₹2,500 per hour for personalised one-to-one online lessons. The fee includes individual guidance, practical activities, feedback and lesson materials tailored to your goals and level. Specialised support is available in Spoken English, Business English, Academic English, pronunciation, writing and research-related academic skills.
