I love trying to make reading and writing more approachable and fun. I teach writing at a UC university, and have an Ivy League BA and an MFA in fiction. I have a decade of experience teaching and tutoring in reading and writing.

I construct lessons based on each student's learning style, so that lessons are tailored to best fit their learning. I adamantly believe that learning has less to do with the subject matter and more to do with how it's taught, which varies from student to student. A typical lesson plan for reading comprehension might involve having a student read a passage to me out loud, before discussing what they read with me. This is a more engaging approach to reading comprehension. What sets me apart as a tutor is my experience writing and editing, alongside teaching at the university level. My lessons are for anyone from elementary through graduate school who wants to improve reading comprehension or writing, or work on ACT prep or college applications.
