About James

I'm degree educated and have been working in IT for more than 15 years in different roles.

I have worked for dev teams that have rebuilt entire architectures with modern technologies and maintained legacy software so I know exactly the kinds of challenges that a lot of companies have to deal with.

I've previously taught apprentices all around the UK for large clients like Capgemini and Lloyds Banking Group and have mentored Junior developers in the workplace whilst working as a developer. I've had experience training colleagues to learn complex technologies, like Angular, from scratch.

About the lesson

I like to teach informally, taking into account individual needs and tailoring sessions to suit although I am comfortable working with people with little or no knowledge of a subject and covering fundamental technical and theoretical concepts.

A typical lesson might be 1 hour with students getting hands-on and writing code themselves to make sure they get the hang of the topic.

I'm friendly, a good communicator and very patient.

I have known James since a year. I started following him through his YouTube channel - Code With Bubb, at a time when I found learning JavaScript to be overwhelming (with so many concepts and nuances out there). I went through a complete hands on JS series using Edabit (https://edabit.com/challenges/javascript). It was simply fantastic to follow and code along with him.

A few months down the road he launched two new products - a) JavaScript Essentials (video series) and b) Ultimate Collection of JavaScript Exercises for Beginners. Both these products are world class. As a matter of fact I am working with Ultimate Collection of JavaScript Exercises for Beginners. I am enjoying this product a lot as it is honing my JavaScript coding skills. I just wish that he comes up with an exercises book on Node.js.

James is thorough consummate JavaScript professional besides being responsive. When in doubt in JS he is my go-to person. He ensures that I get a correct answer to any of my question besides suggesting best coding practices in JavaScript. I certainly would recommend James to be a mentor or one-one tutor not just in JavaScript but for complete full stack software development.
