About Kaj

I’m a professional software developer and system analyst with a computer science degree and real-world experience working with web apps, backend systems, databases, APIs, automation, debugging, and legacy systems.

A lot of programming is not really about knowing the perfect answer right away. It is about learning how to slow down, read what is in front of you, and figure out where the confusion starts. I have spent a lot of my professional life working with messy systems, unclear errors, and problems that only start to make sense once you break them down into smaller pieces.

I have worked with languages and tools like Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, PHP, SQL, Git, HTML/CSS, React, Node.js, and Oracle databases. I am comfortable helping with beginner and intermediate programming, web development, databases, debugging, and general computer science concepts.

My goal is not to simply give students answers. I want to help students understand what their code is doing, why something is not working, and how to approach problems with more confidence the next time. Programming can be frustrating, especially when course material moves quickly or an error message seems to come out of nowhere, but usually there is a thread to follow. I try to help students find that thread.

About the lesson

Hi! My lessons are focused on helping students actually understand what their code is doing, not just memorize syntax or copy solutions. If you're struggling to understand something, I can definitely help whether that's beginner or something more intermediate in your course load.

In particular I can help with web development, databases, SQL, Git, and computer science fundamentals. I work well with students who are stuck on an assignment, confused by an error message, or having trouble connecting course concepts to understanding real code and how it would be applicable.

A typical lesson might involve walking through a problem together, reading and debugging code, breaking down an assignment into smaller steps, reviewing important concepts, or practicing how to approach programming problems independently.

I do not complete assignments for students, but I can help you understand the material, fix misunderstandings, and build the skills needed to solve problems yourself.

My teaching style is patient, practical, and focused on clear explanations. I try to meet students where they are and explain technical concepts in plain language.
