About Neelakantan

Neelakantan I Krishnan, is a professional singer and vocal coach from Vadodara, Gujarat. He is a Carnatic musician with almost 25 years of experience in the field of music. He started his training under Smt. Bindu Namboothiri, and is now training under Tomy Thomas and is part of the K.V. Narayanaswami Shishya Parampara. At the age of 14, he started exploring Western Music and has worked with multiple artists in different genres of music, from all across the country. His achievements include, working as the Music Director with “Sam Productions” in their theatre production of Hindi plays “Bali aur Shambhu” and “Shots of Imandari”. His work in the musical short film “Metagod” by the music group “Darcligt” landed him an interview that got featured in “The Week” an Indian Magazine with worldwide recognition.

About the lesson

My Teaching Approach Techniques & Methods I blend traditional Carnatic training with modern vocal exercises, using simple step-by-step methods that help students build confidence, voice clarity, and musicality. I also bring in elements of Western music to make learning versatile and engaging. Class Structure A typical class starts with voice warm-ups and breathing exercises, followed by lessons in raga or song practice. We also spend time on rhythm, improvisation, and performance techniques. Each class is interactive and tailored to the student’s pace. Special Features I focus on individual strengths and provide personalized feedback. My teaching style encourages students to explore creativity while staying rooted in tradition. I also guide students in stage performance, pronunciation, and expression. Who Can Join My classes are open to school children, college students, aspiring performers, and adults—whether beginners or those with prior music experience who wish to deepen their skills.
