About Jonah

I am an actor, recently trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (3 years). I run acting workshops for all ages, covering a wide range of subjects - including Script-work, Actioning & Objectives, Meisner, Improvisation, Character, Story-telling, Animal work and Imagination.

About the lesson

I was trained to recognise that Acting should be simple, easy and truthful. I believe actors should be willing to absorb and learn, in order to become as malleable as a character requires - or indeed the text necessitates. In order to respond truthfully, one must be open and generous; though above all, one must be curious. Through various techniques I have studied and practiced at one of the world's leading drama school, it is clear to me that these qualities are imperative, and make for a well-rounded, robust, and honest storyteller.

Your training will include an efficient blend of techniques from an array of practitioners (basis: Uta Hagan, Stanislavski, Meisner)

For Drama School Auditions, we will work together to bring you out of your comfort zone, whilst ensuring you are appropriately equipped to handle text with ease and creativity. We will break down scripts together, work through actions and objectives and hone your skills in truth and imagination. We would start by assessing you in the first session based on a monologue (we can discuss options together if you wish). I will also assist with sight-reading and diction work, giving you a range of vocal warm-up techniques to employ in your monologue.

I also have equipment ready to use for SELF-TAPE practice, if you wish, and we can work together to enhance your confidence taping for the Industry. (Self-tapes are the most common forms of auditions for casting directors around the globe). Note, unfortunately I will only be able to do this from my base in Muswell Hill.
