About Alex
I am an experienced, fully qualified Biology teacher with a First Class Degree from The University of Manchester. I have taught in prestigious Independent Grammar Schools in Manchester and currently teach in a leading Independent Grammar School in London. I have worked as A Level Biology Coordinator, KS4 Coordinator and am currently Head of Year. I have been tutoring for over 4 Years and have set up my own tutoring workshops during the Holidays. I have also worked in research and am an author on a scientific paper, published in 2013.
Whether you are struggling with knowledge, exam technique, revision strategies or something else, I can help you! As I am a practicing teacher, I am able to identify the areas you need to improve and build tailored lessons around your needs, using the correct teaching materials and methods. I understand the importance of different exam board specifications and having the best exam technique possible.
I'm very down to earth and easy to get on with. I have many hobbies ranging from football, to music and some unusual ones such as salsa and dodgeball. Please get in touch and I will do my best to help!

Alex is a brilliant tutor, he's fantastic at explaining his subject and is incredibly helpful when it comes to things you get a bit stuck on. He's great at helping you develop exam technique and always makes time to go through exam papers with you step by step, which I feel really helped me achieve my grades! He also has that very useful knack in making Biology seem like the interesting subject that it is, so he will not bore you and you will actually listen and learn! I would highly recommend him to anyone.
Alex was an awesome teacher who helped me right the way through my A level Biology. He put in the extra effort when I needed it and helped me make decisions about Universities and courses. I strongly recommend.
