About Ranul
I have been playing piano since the age of 3, accumulating over 19 years of performing experience across genres including jazz, pop, ragtime, blues, and classical. With 12+ years of private tutoring and 7 years as a music instructor and Academics Coordinator at Musicmatters Sri Lanka, I bring a wealth of expertise to my teaching.
I have also directed choirs, played for the choirs at Richmond College in Galle, Sri Lanka, and currently co-direct the Musicmatters choir.
My greatest joy comes from seeing my students achieve their goals and find satisfaction in their piano playing.

Lessons will follow a highly practical approach and be individually tailored to meet each student's unique needs.
Initially, I will listen to you play a piece you are comfortable with to assess your level. Based on this, we'll discuss whether you prefer to focus on sight reading, playing by ear, or a combination of both, and your lessons will be customized accordingly.
For beginners, the basics of reading and writing musical notation will be covered through a mix of singing, clapping, keyboard playing (nursery rhymes, beginner songs you enjoy), and written activities.
For adults, regardless of your level, genre or specific goals, the lessons will be adapted to suit your requirements.
With over 7 years of experience as a music instructor and Academics Coordinator at Musicmatters Sri Lanka, along with extensive private tutoring experience, I have successfully nurtured over 150 students in my teaching career.
This personalized approach has allowed me to successfully nurture over 150 students throughout my teaching career.
