About Lygia
Hi! I'm a Brazilian tutor who loves Brazilian Portuguese and culture. I've been a professional language teacher and translator since 2014, I'm certified to teach both in-person and online and I'm happy to have guided many students to proficiency. On the side, I'm a psychologist experienced in learning difficulties and emotional barriers to learning.

I tailor my methods to each student but with most of my students, I dedicate a great part of the lesson to his/her output. I teach adults (+12) of any level, I love teaching pronunciation and conversational Portuguese and (when it's of interest) including cultural aspects of my country in the lesson.
I like to learn about my students' interests and connect my lessons to them, helping students use the vocabulary and grammar they learned the way they will use it in real life!

Perfect! Great intro session to quickly figure out how she felt I could learn best, while looking for ways to personalize my experience. As a result we also got into a good bit of learning the first day, I quickly realized I was getting the learning style and environment I felt was missing from trying to use apps.
