About Niko

Helpful, energetic, and very approachable, I am a mathematician with a PhD degree and decades of experience with teaching, academic research, and real-world applications. I have taught CEGEP-level math courses at Dawson College and Marianopolis College, and I have taught undergraduate and graduate courses of introductory, intermediate, and advanced levels at McGill University and Concordia University, as well as at leading universities in the US and Europe. I have also worked as a university research scientist, and I have served as a research and development consultant to start-up engineering/technology companies and biolaboratories. I not only know how to teach math, but I also know how it is used in practice and I can relate most of the mathematical concepts that I teach to real-world applications.

About the lesson

Method: I am fully prepared to deliver tutoring sessions online. I have experience with online teaching in the context of teaching CEGEP mathematics classes.

Topics: I can tutor most introductory, intermediate, or advanced topics in mathematics and applied mathematics, including certain topics in physics and statistics. I have worked with Python, Matlab and R so I can help with some programming and computational science tasks. I have experience with research-level consulting of PhD students and early-career scientists.

The list of topics includes, but is not limited to:
- Remedial Secondary IV and V Mathematics, Precalculus and Foundations of Mathematics.
- All levels of Linear Algebra - introductory, intermediate, advanced or honors, as a general prerequisite as well as for science, engineering, social science and commerce majors at CEGEP or university level.
- All levels of Calculus of one and several variables - introductory, intermediate, advanced or honors, as a general prerequisite as well as for science, engineering, social science and economics majors at CEGEP or university level.
- Vector Calculus and Advanced Calculus.
- Ordinary and Partial Differential Equations.
- Dynamical Systems, Nonlinear Dynamics, and Chaos.
- Probability Theory, Statistics.
- Complex Variables, Complex Analysis, and Riemann Surface Theory.
- Geometry - analytic, projective, computational, application to computer science, differential, Riemannian geometry, Euclidean, spherical, hyperbolic, applications to physics and general relativity.
- Topology - general, algebraic, differentiable manifolds, differential topology, geometric and low dimensional topology.
- Abstract Algebra and Group Theory.
- I can also tutor physics courses like Classical Mechanics, including Newtonian, Lagrangian and Hamiltonian formulations, Special Relativity, General Relativity and Quantum Mechanics.
