About Joel
I’m an award-winning journalist with more than 25 years of professional experience and over a decade of teaching at the university and community college level. I’ve worked in real newsrooms, edited under deadline, and helped students navigate the same challenges they face in class—research, writing clearly, and making sense of complex information.
As a tutor, I’m professional, prepared, and genuinely invested in my students’ success. I create a supportive, low-pressure environment where questions are encouraged and learning feels engaging rather than intimidating. Students can expect clear communication, practical guidance, and honest, constructive feedback. My goal is not just to help students improve an assignment, but to build confidence, curiosity, and skills they can carry forward long after our sessions end.
