About Derek
I am a guitarist who has been active in music education and performance for the last 10 years. I moved to the Nashville area in 2015 to pursue a master's degree in jazz studies at Middle Tennessee State University, where I now teach. I also teach privately in Murfreesboro, and I remain active as a freelance performer and arranger.

I require at least 48 hours notice of a cancellation that can be considered for rescheduling. I am willing to work around emergencies and unexpected circumstances, but I generally won't reschedule if I don't receive communication from the student prior to the arranged meeting time.
