About Lesia
17+ Years of Classroom & Specialized Literacy Experience
"I am a passionate educator with a Bachelor of Education (BEd) and 17+ years of experience in the field of literacy. For the past 6 years, I have worked as an Educational Assistant (EA) in Edmonton, giving me a unique 'side-by-side' perspective on how students struggle and succeed in our local school system.
Over the last 2 years, I have specialized specifically in online literacy intervention. I’ve mastered the art of using digital tools to make high-level phonics instruction feel like a game. My goal is to take the pressure off of parents and the frustration away from students.
When I’m not 'sniping' syllables with my students, I’m working alongside my studio assistant, Professor Cat, to ensure every child feels seen, supported, and capable of cracking the reading code!"

Master the Reading Code: Specialized Literacy Support with an Expert EA
My Methodology & Techniques
I use the Science of Reading—the gold-standard research on how the brain actually learns to read. We follow a systematic UFLI-inspired routine, which means we don't leave the child "guessing" at words. We build the reading code piece by piece using "Syllable Sniping" and vowel team mastery so that progress actually sticks. My digital studio is 100% interactive; I don't just lecture—your child has "mouse control" and is an active participant in every lesson.
A Typical 45-Minute Lesson
Each session is high-energy and fast-paced to keep students engaged:
Visual & Auditory Drill: Rapid-fire recognition of known sounds to build speed.
The New "Code": Introducing a new vowel team or syllable type in a clear, simple way.
Interactive Word Work: Dragging digital tiles and "sniping" syllables on our shared whiteboard.
Reading in the Wild: Applying our new skills to real sentences and stories.
The Cat’s Wrap-Up: A final fun check-in with my studio assistant, Professor Cat, to celebrate the day’s wins.
