• When and why did you develop an interest in your chosen field?

  I grew up in a rural area of British Columbia without access to computers or the internet. When I was about 12 my family began to open up to computers. I instantly became fascinated with the endless potential of machine thinking.

• What makes you passionate about your subject?

  Not only can computers and programs do amazing things, but their potential is just beginning to be tapped into. There's so much more to discover and invent in computer science!

• What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a "Superprof"?

  I love that moment when what I am explaining clicks in someone else's mind. I always wait for this moment before continuing down the learning track, it's worth it.

• Do you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

  My father taught me the importance of teaching, when he included me and my brother in home renovations. Despite our young age, he patiently taught us about each component that goes into a house.

• What are your keys to success?

  I'm not much of a success, don't take my advice.
