About Tessa

I am an experienced chess tutor with 10 years of teaching students at high school and college levels. Over the years, I have successfully guided around 300 students, helping them improve their skills, strategic thinking, and love for the game. My teaching philosophy centers on clarity, adaptability, and accountability. I tailor lessons to each student’s learning style, ensuring concepts are easy to understand and practically applicable.

I focus on building strong foundations in openings, tactics, middle-game strategies, and endgame techniques. I also emphasize critical thinking, calculation skills, pattern recognition, and decision-making under pressure. Lessons include openings, middle-game planning, endgame techniques, and tactical puzzles to develop problem-solving skills. I also teach pattern recognition, calculation, and critical thinking, helping students make decisions under pressure.

Adaptation is central to my methodology. I adjust teaching methods to suit visual, auditory, or hands-on learners. I use interactive exercises, analysis of famous games, and real-time practice matches to reinforce understanding. Students also explore chess variants, time management strategies, and competitive preparation to enhance versatility.

For those interested in competitive play, I focus on tournament readiness, psychological resilience, and game analysis. I also encourage creative play, exploring unconventional strategies and experimenting with different styles.
