About Josh

I have played bagpipes for over 25 years. I’ve performed internationally, competed in solo competitions as well as regularly competed with pipe bands at the World Pipe Band Championships in Scotland (Grade 1).

I’ve taught kids as young as 11 to play bagpipes and willing to teach anyone, as long as they’re able to hold the chanter and willing to put in the effort.

I am fully cleared to work in vulnerable sectors inc. with children, I speak fluent French as well as basic German and Spanish.

About the lesson

Lessons will cover the instrument, maintenance, and music theory with a strong focus on finger & breathing technique. Students will progress from playing the practice chanter to playing a “Goose” (bagpipe with practice chanter). From there, students will progress to playing the full instrument.
