Hi - i am an ex-student who studied at a continuous school for the most of my life.
And like all continuous schools here in Mumbai we have a math environment that instead of promoting facing math problems head on showed us ways to avoid it. I was a pious follower in this regard; always finding shortcuts instead of actually understanding the concept, but this started to change when i began learning math with Mukesh sir. His classes never made me sleepy (which is actually saying something since I thought math lectures were made to catch up on sleep - since the theory made such a good lullaby), his way of approaching the problem - understanding and then making his students understand is - very uncomplicated; and even when the math does get complicated you can rest easy knowing he'll help you Every step of the way. Sometimes in the way of class overshooting by half an hour or him sending you extra notes so you could grasp the concept better. Mukesh Sir taught me Mathematics when I was in the 12th standard. Being a biology student, Maths was never the subject of focus for me, and yet, the way he explained concepts to me, and gave me encouragement and support whenever I didn’t score well in a test, or was just frustrated with studies in general, helped me crack not just the Mathematics board exam, but in a way, he also helped me crack the medical entrance exam by giving me the motivation to be a better student altogether.
