About Towa

I made my concerto debut at the Barbican, performing Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto in 2022, having performed nationally (inc. Royal Albert Hall, Royal Festival Hall & Bridgewater Hall). Having held 3rd Chair & Inspire Concertmastership at the National Youth Orchestra (2019-2022), I am currently Oxford University Orchestra Principal. As Oxford University Music Chair of Auditions, I have extensive experience in adjudication and evaluation of orchestral standards - this will prove vital for students interested in applying for Music Scholarships! I was previously Scholar at Westminster School & Royal Academy of Music (Junior Department), where I won the Annual John McAslan Prize, was declared National Champion at the National Pro Corda Chamber Music Competition & invited to numerous International Masterclasses. In 2022, I was awarded the Sir Eric Ash Scholarship in Music by the Royal College of Music & Imperial College London. I'm also currently a 3rd Year Neuroscience/Biomedical Undergraduate at Balliol College, University of Oxford with a Nettleship Scholarship. Currently, I am a Student Investigator at the Department of Physiology, Anatomy of Genetics (Oxford University - Auditory Neuroscience, in collaboration with the Faculty of Music), with Specialist Interests in Auditory Neuroscience & Brain-Computer Interfaces/Neural Codes. I am the College Medical Society & Music Society Student President & Student Vice-President of Balliol College. I am also Principal of the University Flagship Music Ensemble, Oxford University Orchestra, where I continue to enjoy my music-making with the top non-conservatoire instrumentalists in the UK.

- Online & In-Person Violin & Viola Performance Teaching Offered, with self-tested teaching methodology - Lessons are typically 1 hr - Attainment assured with 3 years experience as a mentor at the National Youth Orchestra, Oxford University Music & Westminster School - Teaching Beginners to Grade 8 Students, as well as supporting applications to 11+/13+ Scholarship Programmes
