Taking Jaimie's photography classes, although different from my previous background, gave me a different look of the world around me. Having Jaimie as a professor and guide helped me to explore my creative mind, one that I previously didn't think existed and to get as much out of the class as possible. Jaimie stayed after class to help out with individual projects and give tips on how to create an outstanding image for our final class project. I really appreciated the opportunity to learn and grow as a photographer and as a person under Jaimie's guidance.

I was a student of Jamie, she is an amazing teacher. She is really able to meet students where they are and give them lessons to fit their individual styles and needs. I had some experience with photography from previous classes, but she filled in a lot of the gaps with things I didn't understand fully at the time and taught me to use new tools and techniques I wasn't familiar with and showed me how to integrate them into my current practices. Jamie's classes were fun too, I looked forward to coming to school and working with her, Her assignments were entertaining and made me want to participate in class. I couldn't recommend Jamie more, I actually miss taking class with her, she has a very unique approach to learning and I wasn't able to find another teacher like her and I wish I had signed up for more of her classes when I could have. - J.P

Jaimie is an amazing professor. She instructs students in a way that allows them to hone in on their skills; allowing them to not only become better photographers, but also better artists, and compelling storytellers. She takes the time to help each student explore what photography means to them on a more personal level. She is always available for her students anytime they need a little extra guidance. Her approach enables students to fine tune their unique styles and narrative perspectives. Her professionalism coupled with her engaging instructional style stand out as key qualities.

I’ve known Professor Jaime for more than five years. I am a witness to the remarkable qualities of Professor Jaime. She is an excellent teacher. She is a favorite among students and can truly make any lesson more exciting and interesting to her class. Her teaching style is truly innovative and uses a variety of strategies to make her teaching more effective. Her cheerful attitude and excellent work ethics are truly admirable. I learned a lot in her classes but most importantly I enjoyed them all that’s why I registered more than once. Professor Jaime is supportive and will give you the best advice.

I took Jaimie’s classes during my sophomore year in college, it was one of the best decisions I made. Jaimie left a big impact on my learning journey. Each of her photography classes is amazing. I've never met another educator or artist in the fine art education field who has more passion for photography and knowledge about photo history than she does. Her sophisticated knowledge and her teaching style is one of a kind, and her photo history class is stimulating and unforgettable. Jaimie is supportive and always encourages her students, to discover their authentic selves, inspiring them to follow their dreams, whether inside or outside the classroom. Professor Gordon is an inspiring mentor and super talented artist. Her sensitivity as a teacher helped me many times while developing my own voice. Jaimie is more than a Professor she is a friend always offering a helping hand. Creative process is often painful and who is better to understand your ups and downs- another artis. Jaimie is a kind and engaging person. She is incredibly knowledgeable in her area of expertise. She loves to hear the stories of the people around her and is able to find a common ground to connect. She is not only reliable and dedicated in her teaching, but also good natured and passionate in photography. Prof Jaimie was one of my first photography professors that I had the most pleasure to experience when I went back to school. She was so patient, kind, and full of knowledge that the excitement of what she was teaching always reflected in her eyes and body language. Her classes are tactile as well as poetic. Prof. Jaimie is the type of person who sees beauty in EVERYTHING and sees a creative soul in EVERYONE. She will not only listen to what you want/aiming for- but she will guide you to make sure that you have a strong body of work because she thinks of your portfolio for the long run. She is a rare gem, because they don’t make professors like her anymore. I HIGHLY recommend her if you want to learn about the history of photography and film, and how to properly and professional develop in the darkroom.

Jaimie is an excellent photography teacher. She makes learning fun and is really encouraging of beginner photographers, which is so important when building the confidence in your skills.

My children have taken a photography class given by Miss Jaimie. They loved her kind demeanor and patient mannerisms.
