About Emilie

Since my qualification as a teacher in 2016 I have enjoyed teaching mainly the early primary school stages. This has equipped me with expertise in play pedagogy, phonics and foundational numeracy teaching. I also have lots of knowledge and experience of supporting learners who find reading and writing challenging due to a range of factors and know how to use reading recovery approaches, successfully. Since the birth of my son, I am looking to pursue tutoring as a more flexible way of doing the job I love, whilst also being a present parent.

About the lesson

I use playful and engaging approaches, helping children to understand how and why they are learning certain skills. 30 minute- 1 hour sessions for all primary aged children. Targeted literacy or numeracy support. I have deep knowledge and understanding of Scottish Curriculum for Excellence and 10 years of classroom teaching experience. I am a member of the General Teaching Council of Scotland and my teaching qualification is PGDE Primary.
