About Janick

I taught for 6 years, from 5 years to 12 years, as the French, mathematics, English (children have their first courses in first grade until the end of high school), the science, the Quebec and Canadian history, arts and ethics. I also teach yoga and dance, I love drawing and everything related to art.

I teach groups of 20 to 30 students, apart from the yoga that is 5 to about 10 students of all ages, male and female.

The greatest recognition I have is of my students develop their intellectual curiosity, thirst for learning, learning to learn to pursue this objective all our lives beyond school borders.

About the lesson

Two years of pre-university education in the humanities, individual profile and society (sociology, psychology, philosophy and history) and four years of university education in preschool and elementary education (in Quebec we do not distinguish between preschool and the elementary in the curriculum because we only have a kindergarten for 5 years), I am passionate about education. I sincerely believe that I can leverage my professional knowledge I have acquired in recent years. Differentiated instruction and the importance of meeting the needs of students with special needs (disabilities or social maladjustments or learning disabilities) are educational values that are important to me. I learned a lot through my teacher contract on the many strategies to be developed to empower children.

I had the chance to live a research contract on motivation and perseverance in preschool, handling multiple databases and creating a detailed bibliography. The research is an area that fascinates me.

Having my internship III in Belgium and having the travel bug, these rich experiences allowed me to appreciate the richness of differences, to develop my openness to others and to show many adaptations. Moreover, I am fully bilingual (English and French as native languages).

I strongly believe that learning through fun, Piaget has put forward that before twelve, work and play are the same. I love Vygotsky and the zone of proximal development and the socioconstructisme. Finally, Freinet is one of my favorite teachers, who managed to reinvent pedagogy focused on the child who is at the heart of learning.

I thirst to learn, I am incredibly curious and love asking questions! My experiences with the customer service allowed me to discover active listening and respect at all times.
