About Courtney

Hi! I’m Courtney, a certified Health Information Management professional and experienced HIM instructor. I graduated from the Health Information Management program at Red River College Polytechnic in 2016 and have worked in a variety of HIM roles, including coding and health information management. I also completed a Coding and Classification Specialist program, giving me additional expertise in Canadian coding and classification.

I currently teach in the HIM program at two colleges, where I enjoy helping students understand what can sometimes feel like a very complex field. I especially love finding ways to break down difficult concepts, explain the “why” behind the material, and help students gain confidence in their knowledge.

Whether you’re preparing for the CHIMA National Certification Examination (NCE), struggling with a particular HIM topic, or simply looking for some extra support, I take a patient, encouraging, and personalized approach to tutoring. I want you to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and working through challenging concepts without feeling overwhelmed.

About the lesson

My CHIMA NCE preparation lessons are designed to help Health Information Management students build confidence, strengthen their understanding of key concepts, and feel prepared for the national certification exam. As an experienced HIM instructor and certified Health Information Management professional, I can help you review important practice areas, break down challenging concepts, work through exam-style questions, and identify areas where you may need additional practice. Lessons are personalized to your learning needs and can focus on specific topics, overall exam preparation, or developing effective test-taking strategies. My goal is not just to help you memorize information, but to help you understand the concepts and apply your HIM knowledge to the types of questions you may encounter on the NCE
