About Marcel
I am a Computer Science undergraduate (starting 2019) that loves teaching. I started a debating team in high school and for 2 years I coached students, leading the team to win the Western Australian Debating League in 2017.
I have regularly been involved in helping younger students with Maths, teaching ATAR Mathematics Methods to students, and also tutoring relatives in Year 8 and 9 for the past 2 years.

I strive to help students understand the content they are learning, not just memorize techniques or information. I break down concepts from the basics, ensuring students have the building blocks required to understand more challenging ideas. My lessons are not only about passing an upcoming test. They are about making sure the knowledge learnt is solidified and can later be applied to more complicated principles.
During a lesson, I will work with the student to identify the misconceptions and gaps in their understanding of a topic. These will be taught with rigorous explanations, not simply formulae. I will explain to the student why and how the mathematics and science work, which will help them apply it more easily in exercises and tests.
