About Laila
Hello! My name is Laila, and I am a dedicated Bachelor of Education student at CPUT with a genuine passion for teaching and helping learners reach their full potential. My studies have given me valuable knowledge of teaching methods, lesson planning, assessment, and classroom management.
I am patient, friendly, organised, and committed to creating a supportive learning environment where every student feels comfortable and confident. I have strong skills in English, Afrikaans, spelling, writing, grammar, reading, and primary-school Mathematics.
I believe learning should be engaging and enjoyable, while still being focused on achieving meaningful results. I adapt my lessons to each learner’s individual needs and pace, and I always encourage questions and active participation. I look forward to helping you build your skills, confidence, and love for learning!

My approach to tutoring is patient, supportive, and learner-centred. As a B.Ed. student at CPUT, I understand that every learner has different strengths, learning styles, and areas that need improvement. I use clear explanations, practical examples, interactive activities, and regular practice to make lessons engaging and easy to understand.
I am proficient in English and Afrikaans and can provide lessons in both languages. My lessons are mainly aimed at primary and high school learners, particularly those who need support with English, Afrikaans, reading, spelling, writing, grammar, and basic Mathematics.
A typical lesson includes a friendly introduction, a clear explanation of the topic, guided practice, activities, and a short review to check understanding. I aim to create a comfortable environment where learners feel confident asking questions and making mistakes while learning.
