About Parker

Through learning how to learn, I became a 3.98 GPA college student in a pre-medical program. When I was in high school, I often struggled with STEM classes. I found that no matter how much studying I did, I couldn't seem to get the grades I was after. As I entered college, the demands of classes built up, and I began to feel overwhelmed with the work. I realized throughout high school, I had never learned how to learn. I spent my first year of college studying and applying different methods of learning. I discovered that my poor grades were a product of using the wrong methods to learn and retain information. The skills I learned led me to better grades, higher motivation, and even a passion to learn. If this sounds like you, know that with the right focus and support, you can master anything.

About the lesson

I believe that anyone can succeed in ANY subject with enough effort and support. Often, the best way to succeed in school comes from understanding the fundamentals of a subject and fostering an interest in the material itself. As such, I teach from a bottom-up approach, starting with simple concepts, then building knowledge through visuals, analogies, real-world applications, practice problems, and a variety of hands-on methods for students to develop mastery of their course. I also believe that developing testing strategies and skills is crucial to performing well on exams. I focus on building up these skills through guided practice questions to best prepare students for their exams. I work with high school and college students in a variety of STEM topics.
