About Nitin
I am a dedicated tutor with a strong academic background in the sciences and a genuine passion for helping students succeed beyond what I did. Through my own college education, I have developed a strong understanding of challenging scientific concepts and, more importantly, learned how to approach difficult problems systematically. This has helped me achieve 130+ in the science subjects of the MCAT. I work primarily with college students and tailor each session to their individual needs. My goal is not simply to provide answers, but to help students develop the confidence and problem-solving skills to reach those answers independently. I take a patient and encouraging approach to tutoring. I believe that every student can improve with the right explanation, practice, and support, and I strive to create an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning from mistakes.

My approach as a tutor is centered on understanding rather than memorization. I want students to know what the answer is, why it is correct, and how they can arrive at that answer on their own. I typically begin by identifying what the student already understands and where they are struggling. From there, I explain concepts in a simple, step-by-step way before gradually introducing more difficult material. So, in my ideal lesson plan, I would explain a certain concept that the student claims he/she struggles with in a way that the student wants it to be taught. I like presenting things in a visual manner. This would be reinforced with questions about the lesson and/or just reassuring if the student is understanding the material. Furthermore, I would work through a few examples with the student and have them attempt problems independently while I provide guidance when needed. I finish by reviewing the key takeaways and identifying anything they should continue practicing. I believe what sets me apart is my focus on problem-solving skills and confidence. One of my goals is to help students develop the skills necessary to tackle unfamiliar questions rather than simply repeat information they have memorized. I also understand that students learn differently, so I am willing to change my approach when something is not clicking. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes because those moments often lead to the strongest learning. Regarding who the lessons are for, I would like to tutor college-level students, particularly pre-med students. However, I am open to tutoring any student, whether it be middle or high school, who struggles with those subjects. I would also love to teach students preparing for their MCAT.
