About Taylor

I am a second year university studying at Dalhousie University.
I am currently enrolled in a pre-law major to assist in my journey of going to law school in the future.
I have a year experience tutoring English and Pre-Law online to college and high school students. And I have also been teaching english as a second language online to students in China and Korea since Spring 2019.
I was an honour-roll student for all 4 years of high school, graduated with Ontario Secondary School Scholar status and an academic scholarship offer to all four universities I applied to.

Personally I enjoy skiing, running, volleyball, travelling and finding new places to eat. My favourite subject is English, although I also love learning about social sciences and social studies as well!

About the lesson

When it comes to furthering one's understanding in a particular subject, I believe that it not only takes patience, and lots of practice but, it also involves the use of learning what works best for each student. Not every student is able to learn and grasp concepts the same way, and as a tutor, I want to ensure that the best method is used in order to help a student become successful in their academic studies. Whether that be the kinesthetic learning approach involving consistent hands-on learning and many sample questions to practice. Or a more visual learners method, incorporating videos, pictures, drawings etc.
I want to guarantee to find the best method in helping the student learn, and further their knowledge to ensure academic success.

In ninth grade english, I began experiencing difficulties writing proper essays. With the help of Taylor, she was able to guide me through how to structure an essay, how to develop a coherent thesis, how to locate relevant resources as well as how to develop the skills to actually construct the essay.
