About Ryan

Having studied politics at Oxford, I greatly enjoy teaching and helping students to achieve success in their exams. I offer tuition in both British and American politics, as well as in International Relations and Constitutional Law.

Having subsequently studied law as a post-graduate, I am now a non-practising Barrister currently working as a full-time tutor. I attained distinctions in both the Barrister Training Course and Post-Graduate Diploma in Law, and I enjoy encouraging students to develop their debating and communication skills through discussing topical issues and making reasoned and persuasive arguments.

I have also recently completed a Masters in Law (LLM) where I focused on Jurisprudence, Constitutional Law and Political Philosophy.

About the lesson

Lessons will be specifically tailored to each student and a plan designed to prepare for A Level/IB examinations, carefully ensuring that the criteria for each exam board are met. I also provide detailed feedback on essays and essay plans. My lessons focus both on covering the academic syllabus in the most efficient and effective way, as well as ensuring that students have excellent exam technique. I enjoy showing how the topics being studied are genuinely relevant to contemporary issues which students are familiar with or find interesting. I am also passionate about public speaking and debating and am pleased to offer tuition in these areas. Lessons are typically one hour long, but this can be flexible.
