About Emily

My name is Emily, and I am currently an Assistant Psychologist with the National Health Service (NHS), bringing over 10 years of experience in healthcare. I hold both an undergraduate and a Master’s degree in Psychology and Social Science.

My passion for helping others with their learning stems from my own academic challenges. Throughout school, I struggled with concentration and memory, often feeling unengaged. It wasn’t until I began my university studies that I truly discovered my passion for psychology, which ignited my love for learning.

I have since published work in my field and regularly deliver staff training on my research findings, as well as other psychological theories and models. My goal is to instill confidence and equip others with the tools they need to succeed, especially those who may doubt their own abilities.

I focus on applied learning, using real-life scenarios to make concepts more relatable, and I tailor my materials to match each individual's learning style and strengths. I also offer tips and exercises to help students manage revision, nerves, and exam stress, along with providing comprehensive revision materials.

Based in the UK, I specialize in supporting students preparing for UK exams and coursework, particularly those under the AQA exam board.

About the lesson

I tailor each lesson to the individual, with a person-centered approach at the core of my teaching. My method involves understanding a student’s unique strengths and challenges, which guides the structure of our lessons.

I offer online sessions, typically lasting one hour, though shorter lessons are available upon request. Additionally, I provide a curated list of resources tailored to each learner's needs. I emphasize the use of real-world examples to enhance memory retention and learning.

While my experience includes tutoring family friends and offering exam support, I am eager to expand my reach and assist more students. In my role as an Assistant Psychologist with the NHS, I also provide staff training on various psychological methods and practices.

Please note, I am not a licensed psychologist, but I employ interactive teaching methods that encourage critical thinking and application, rather than relying solely on rote memorization.

I am providing 1-hour lessons for £8 while I gain some more experience and references.

I would like to do an initial session to gain information on yourself as a person and a learner to ensure my lessons are person-centered and focused on your strengths and identifying difficulties. I am willing to complete the initial session for FREE while I gain further experience.

I am also determined to provide affordable lessons for those who are likely in need of it the most such as those from disadvantaged backgrounds. Such hourly rates as (£50-£80) are unacceptable.
