About Carl
I recently finished a 'Psychosocial Studies' postgrad degree in London, and am now looking to completely ignore my newfound qualification by setting up bass guitar tutoring sessions in Bristol. I've achieved my Rockschool grade 8 certification and have previous experience in bass tutorage, having taught a total of 12 students (of all ages) back when I lived in Norwich (with a 100% grade exam pass rate, not meaning to brag...).

My methodology is based primarily on the students needs/wants/general level of playing. Assuming the student is a beginner, we would start by learning simple fundamental techniques (e.g. finger walking/picking, hand positions etc) and basic theory (simple scales, notation etc), before learning songs according to the students level/taste in music (obviously I'd suggest a few songs/bands that I think would be helpful and the student might enjoy playing). Also, I tend to use Rockschool books as a general measure of the student's ability - firstly, because they're a really helpful learning resource in-and-of themselves, but also in learning them the student has the option of taking the exams and achieving official qualifications, should they so wish.

Details
Flat hourly rate for all students, to be paid at the start/end of the lesson, either via bank transfer or cash in hand. Can provide amp + leads for lessons, however student must have own notation book (having one with blank sheets is useful) and Rockschool grade book if relevant.
