• Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

  Chemistry has always fascinated me because it helps explain the world around us—from the food we eat and the medicines we take to the materials used in everyday life. My interest in the subject grew during my school years when I realized how chemistry connects theory with practical applications. This curiosity motivated me to pursue an M.Sc. in Chemistry and later dedicate myself to teaching the subject.

• What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

  The teachers who guided me during my academic journey inspired me to become an educator. Their ability to simplify complex concepts and encourage critical thinking left a lasting impression on me. I chose teaching because it allows me to share knowledge, inspire young minds, and contribute to students' academic and personal growth.

• How does your work help society?

  Education is one of the strongest tools for social development. As a chemistry educator, I help students develop scientific thinking, problem-solving skills, and curiosity about the world. By nurturing future scientists, healthcare professionals, engineers, and informed citizens, I contribute to building a more knowledgeable and progressive society.

• If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

  One of my role models is Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. His dedication to education, science, and nation-building continues to inspire me. His humility, passion for learning, and commitment to empowering young people reflect the values I strive to bring into my teaching career.

• Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

  Outside teaching, I enjoy reading, travelling, photography, and exploring nature. These activities help me stay creative, refreshed, and connected to the world beyond the classroom. I also enjoy learning about new developments in science and education.

• Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

  During my experience as a guest faculty member, I taught a student who initially found chemistry difficult and lacked confidence in the subject. By using simple examples, regular practice sessions, and individual guidance, I helped the student gradually overcome these challenges. Seeing that student become more confident and perform significantly better in examinations was one of the most rewarding moments of my teaching journey. It reinforced my belief that every student can succeed when given the right support and encouragement.
