About Gisela

I have been a Portuguese tutor for many years.

I worked at international schools, teaching Portuguese Language and Literature from grade 1 to 9. I provided alphabetization courses and taught Portuguese as a mother tongue language at primary level. At a secondary level, I taught Portuguese Language and Literature according to the IB curriculum. In the past academic years, I have also taught students how to make short films, plays and graphic novels. I am a teacher since 2004 and I have experience in many different fields related to teaching. I also taught Portuguese Language and Literature to Diploma students (International Baccalaureate).

I did a graduation course in Portuguese Language and Literature. I graduated with a Degree in History with a teaching certificate from Veiga de Almeida University in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I also worked for several years as a tutor, researcher and translator in Brazil for universities, companies and individual clients. This role included the compilation of literature reviews, proof-reading, document formatting as well as researching and writing academic papers, projects and articles in a wide array of subjects.

I work as a Portuguese teacher privately and for several language schools, having experience with one-to-one and group lessons; beginners, intermediate, advanced and proficiency levels, present tuition and online tuition via Skype; teaching children from the age of 2; general training and Portuguese for business purposes.
