About Logan

Through guided role-play, we explore how to deal with common chess situations—like exchanging pieces, avoiding blunders, or capitalizing on mistakes. I introduce strategic vocabulary in context and always connect theory with application. You’ll learn how to think, plan, and adapt. Each lesson is a mix of learning and doing, designed around your personal pace. I’ve worked with casual learners, youth competitors, and adult hobbyists. Chess is a beautiful game, and my teaching approach helps you enjoy it while getting better every session. I start by building your understanding of the board—piece values, space, and tempo. From there, we practice with focused tactics and simple endgames. I help you form strong habits like thinking before every move and reviewing your choices.
As we advance, lessons become more strategic. We explore themes like weak squares, open files, and initiative. I use puzzles and game reviews to train your eye for good decisions. We often role-play different sides of a position to understand both offense and defense.
Lessons are flexible, encouraging, and always based on your needs. Whether you're brand new or already rating-focused, I tailor the content for progress. You’ll see your thinking sharpen and your confidence rise.
