About Kaia
I am a piano teacher with over nine years of experience teaching both online and in person. I hold a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance, with extensive formal training in performance and musicianship. My teaching philosophy focuses on active engagement, musical expression, and developing complete musicianship in every student.
I adapt lessons to each learner’s goals and skill level, whether beginner, intermediate, or professional. Lessons integrate music history, theory, technique, and creativity, ensuring a well-rounded understanding of the piano. I emphasize expressive playing alongside technical proficiency, encouraging students to connect emotionally with the music they perform.
My approach combines structured practice with interactive activities, repertoire exploration, and improvisation to keep sessions engaging and inspiring. I have experience guiding students through classical, jazz, and contemporary styles, tailoring challenges to individual strengths. Sight-reading, ear training, and performance practice are also integral parts of my teaching.
