About Megan

I hold a Master’s degree in Music and have dedicated over eight years to teaching piano. My academic training provided me with extensive technical skills, repertoire knowledge, and pedagogical experience, which I now share with learners in ways that are both structured and inspiring. Throughout my teaching career, I have worked with beginners, intermediate players, and advanced students preparing for competitions or exams. This range of experience has allowed me to adapt my teaching style to meet each individual’s needs, ensuring lessons are engaging, effective, and suited to personal goals. What drives me as a tutor is my passion for helping students grow musically and personally. I believe learning piano develops not only discipline and focus but also creativity and self-confidence. My goal is to nurture well-rounded musicians who find joy and meaning in their practice.

About the lesson

My piano lessons begin by developing a strong technical base. Students learn posture, hand positioning, and fundamental exercises like scales and arpeggios that build strength and dexterity. These essential skills provide the structure required for smooth progress while giving learners confidence in their ability to handle increasingly complex repertoire.

As students advance, I focus on improving sight-reading and music theory integration. This approach helps them read sheet music more fluently and understand harmonic progressions, giving them the ability to explore new works independently. With this knowledge, they not only perform music but also gain insights into how compositions are structured.

Performance and expressiveness are emphasized in later lessons. Students practice dynamics, phrasing, and interpretation to bring music to life. Whether preparing for recitals, exams, or personal enjoyment, I encourage them to communicate their unique musical voice, balancing technical precision with artistic expression.
