About Fiona
Hi, I’m a passionate piano teacher with over 9 years of experience and an Advanced Diploma in Piano Performance. My goal is to help students not only play piano but also connect deeply with the emotion behind the music. I believe every student has a unique musical voice, and I focus on building solid foundations in technique and music theory to support their growth. Lessons are tailored to each student’s pace, interests, and goals, whether they are beginners or more advanced players. I love exploring a variety of genres with my students, including classical, jazz, pop, soul, and R&B. My teaching balances structured practice with creative exploration, allowing students to develop both skill and artistry. I emphasize ear training, sight-reading, and improvisation to make learning well-rounded and engaging. Performing and expressing emotion through music is always encouraged in my lessons. I guide students to gain confidence in their playing and enjoy performing for themselves and others. I also help students compose and interpret music in ways that reflect their personal style. My teaching philosophy is to make learning piano fun, inspiring, and meaningful, nurturing both technical mastery and a lifelong love of music.

My teaching approach focuses on building strong fundamentals while nurturing each student’s unique musical journey. I design individualized lesson plans that adapt to the student’s pace, goals, and style preferences. Lessons cover not only piano technique but also music theory, ear training, sight-reading, improvisation, and musical expression.
I encourage students to explore different genres, from classical and jazz to soul, pop, and R&B, helping them become flexible and confident musicians. Each session blends structured exercises with creative exploration, so students grow steadily while enjoying the process. I emphasize building confidence, allowing students to perform and express themselves without fear.
For students passionate about composition or self-expression, I provide guidance to refine their ideas and translate them into music. I also support those who use music for relaxation or therapy, helping them develop skills at a comfortable pace.
My approach balances discipline with creativity, ensuring students progress technically and artistically. I regularly set small, achievable goals to maintain motivation. Every student is encouraged to experiment, improvise, and find their own musical voice.
With over nine years of experience, I aim to make piano lessons fun, inspiring, and deeply rewarding, fostering both skill and passion for music.
