About Iris
My journey with the piano began during childhood when I first started learning music and became fascinated by the sound of the instrument. I was amazed by how the piano allows musicians to perform melody, harmony, and rhythm together. This interest inspired me to pursue formal music education, eventually leading me to complete a Bachelor’s degree in Music followed by a Master’s in Piano Performance.
Over the past 9 years, I have taught piano to students with many different musical goals. Some learners wanted to prepare for performances or music examinations, while others simply wanted to explore music as a creative hobby. Through teaching, I learned that each student develops musical ability at a different pace and benefits from patient guidance and structured learning.
My teaching approach focuses on building strong technical skills while encouraging musical expression and creativity. I guide students through consistent practice and provide supportive feedback so they can steadily improve. Helping students gain confidence at the piano and experience the joy of creating music is one of the most rewarding aspects of my teaching career.

My piano lessons are designed to help students build strong musical foundations while also enjoying the creative experience of playing music. Learning piano involves understanding rhythm, reading musical notation, and developing coordination between both hands. In my lessons, students gradually learn these skills through guided practice and structured musical exercises that build confidence over time.
Lessons usually begin with finger exercises and scale practice that strengthen hand coordination and improve finger flexibility. Students also practice reading notes on the staff and connecting written music with the sounds they produce on the keyboard. These early activities help learners become comfortable with the instrument while developing rhythm and timing awareness.
As students continue progressing, lessons include learning complete musical pieces and exploring expressive playing techniques. Students learn how to control dynamics, tempo, and phrasing so they can perform music with emotion and clarity. My goal is to help learners enjoy the process of playing the piano while steadily improving their technical skill and musical understanding.
